About Oakwell Garages
Oakwell was founded in June 1983 by Paul Oakley and Brian Welsh. The original aim was to provide a high quality local auto electrical repair facility reconditioning alternators, starter motors and dynamos for the motor trade.
This was very quickly established and customers happy with our re conditioning services soon asked us to provide auto electrical repair and diagnostic services on their vehicles. We have always listened to customer requests and we soon expanded into mechanical repairs and MOT testing as requested.
All our expansion over the last 30 + years has been achieved by training our own apprentices from school and continually supporting them through the investors in people standard. Unlike a lot of garages we have retained and invested in our staff and are now able to offer you some of the best trained and competent engineers in the country. All our technicians have started as auto electricians and we have developed their skills according to their preferred interests. We now have specialist Diagnostic Technicians, Engine Re-Manufacturing Technicians, On Site Repair Technicians, Welding and Fabrication Engineers and MOT tyre and exhaust fitters.
We can repair or replace any part of your car or light commercial vehicle, our work is constantly monitored through our ISO9002 quality control system and we are Trading Standards approved.
This attention to detail and customer care has resulted in Oakwell being awarded the Best Independent Garage in the North West of England 2014 by Motor Codes-Trading standards and sponsored by Auto Express. Mark our oldest serving apprentice (over 30 years) was presented with the award at the Connaught Rooms in London at a special dinner.
